Dignity Health YRMC Honoring Those Impacted by Breast Cancer With Touching Display
Public Invited To Dedicate a Ribbon During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (Oct. 8, 2025) – Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) is using a heartwarming gesture at the Baskin Breast Care Center to uplift those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
“Whether you are battling breast cancer, know someone who is, or have lost someone to the disease, we wanted you to have a chance to commemorate that,” says clinic manager Kathleen Hoffer. “We hope people will feel supported, no matter where they, or their loved ones, are in their breast cancer journey.”
All month long, community members may ask staff for a pink ribbon on which to write a special message or a loved one’s name. The staff will then hang the pink ribbons on metal panels in front of YRMC’s east campus located at 7700 Florentine Rd. Ste. 203, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In recent years, there has been a growing trend of younger adults developing breast cancer. The American Cancer Society (ACS) estimates that in the United States, there will be 316,950 women diagnosed with invasive cases of breast cancer in 2025 alone. On average, a woman in the U.S. has a 13 percent chance of having breast cancer in her lifetime. Regular screenings have been shown to significantly increase a patient’s chances of surviving cancer and of having to undergo a less aggressive form of treatment.
