Dignity Health YRMC Employees Fighting Food Insecurity in Yavapai County
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (Dec. 29, 2025) – Employees from Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) are stepping up to support the Yavapai County community and help address local food insecurity.
In October, YRMC employees and their families volunteered at the Prescott Food Forest’s B Organic Farm in Chino Valley, where they helped weed, prune, move soil, and assist with a variety of gardening tasks. Prescott Food Forest is a community garden that donates fresh produce to food banks throughout the region.
After learning more about food insecurity in Yavapai County, YRMC’s Community Health Advocacy, Mobility, and Planning Committee (C.H.A.M.P.) made the issue a key focus for this employee volunteer initiative.
"As members of our community who are deeply committed to service and to the health and wellbeing of the people we serve, we believe it is important to create purposeful volunteer opportunities where our teams and their families can come together and make a meaningful impact outside of work," shares Dr. Ronael Eckman, Vice President of Medical Affairs at YRMC.
This effort was organized by the Dignity Health HumanKindness Council.
