How to Apply


Thank you for your interest in the Transitional Year Residency Program at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital!

We’re thrilled to welcome applicants for the 2026–2027 academic year. Below, you’ll find important information on how to apply, along with required documents and key deadlines.

Application Process

We’re excited to accept applications exclusively through ERAS. The application window will remain open until December 15, 2025. Applicants selected for interviews will be contacted directly via phone or email.

Application Requirements

To be considered for our program, applicants must submit a complete application through ERAS, including:

  • Completed ERAS Application
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Personal Statement
  • Three or more Letters of Recommendation
  • Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE) – required by the time of your interview
  • Dean’s Letter
  • Official Medical School Transcript
  • USMLE/COMLEX Scores
  • ECFMG Status Report (if applicable for international graduates)
  • Visa and/or citizenship status documentation (if applicable)

Our Transitional Year Residency Program proudly participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Our NRMP Program Code is 2099999P0.
