Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta Celebrates Significant Fundraising Milestone for Maternal Child Services Campaign

(MT. SHASTA, CALIF.) March 05, 2026 – Mercy Medical Center Mount Shasta (MMCMS) proudly announces a significant fundraising milestone in its ongoing Maternal Child Services Campaign. Spearheaded by Mercy Foundation North, the campaign has received overwhelming support from the Siskiyou County community, leading to a recent contribution of $60,603.52 designated for the purchase of brand-new fetal heart rate monitors.

Since its launch in November 2024, the Maternal Child Services Campaign has successfully raised an impressive $150,000 towards its $250,000 goal. Fundraising efforts are scheduled to conclude in November 2026, with all funds dedicated to equipping the Family Birth Center with the latest technology for exceptional maternal and infant care.

Upon completion, campaign funds will provide:

  • A new Bariatric Labor and Delivery bed (delivered November 2025).
  • Three state-of-the-art fetal heart monitors and necessary accessories.
  • A new comprehensive infant security system.
  • Department-wide upgrades to enhance patient comfort and safety through specialized medical devices and updated facilities.

"As a lifelong resident and someone born in this hospital, this campaign means a great deal to me personally," shared Shayna Cassidy, Manager of Philanthropy at Mercy Foundation North. "Fetal monitors are crucial for providing real-time information about a baby's heart rate during pregnancy and labor. Thanks to the generosity of this incredible community and our partners, we can continue to safely bring the next generations of the Siskiyou community into the world."

As one of only two rural family birth centers in Siskiyou County, MMCMS facilitates an average of 150 births annually. Maintaining a state-of-the-art birth center in a rural setting presents unique challenges, making community support essential. Through the overwhelming generosity of numerous partners and community members, including First 5 Siskiyou, Mt. Shasta Rotary, and AGT CPA’s and Advisors, the hospital has taken a vital step forward in acquiring essential, updated equipment like these advanced fetal heart rate monitors and the new Bariatric Labor and Delivery bed.

"We are incredibly grateful for the support from our community, which has made this significant milestone possible," added Rodger Page, President of Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta and the Dignity Health North State Market. "These new fetal heart rate monitors are just one example of how generous contributions directly impact the health and well-being of the mothers, babies, and families we serve. Our commitment to providing excellent stewardship, patient-centered care, and access to current, state-of-the-art technology is strong, despite the challenges many rural hospitals may face. We look forward to achieving our final campaign goal to further enhance the services we offer."
