A Variety of Birthing Options

You get to choose what you prefer, in consultation with your doctor and within your health requirements: doctor, midwife, doula, traditional birth, and innovative water tub for labor. St. Elizabeth was the first hospital in California to offer water tub labor services.

Comfortable, private maternity suites equipped with the latest medical equipment permit labor, delivery, and recovery to take place in the same room, with your own doctor or midwife in attendance, and family members or friends standing close by for support and encouragement.

Walking is Good During Labor

Taking a walk can be helpful for moms waiting to give birth. St. Elizabeth offers several calming gardens and pathways, including a spiritual garden, complete with park benches and water features. We use a Doppler fetal monitoring system to ensure your baby’s well-being during labor, so you can walk with confidence and security.

High-Risk Births

While no one wants to anticipate trouble in the delivery room, St. Elizabeth is linked to a state-of-the-art sister facility, Mercy Medical Center Redding, just 35 miles north of Red Bluff. In the event of a high-risk birth, infants and parents can be immediately airlifted so the best possible treatment can be obtained quickly and safely. Visit Mercy Medical Center Redding for more information.
