Scott Baron, MD, discusses how we can take better care of ourselves and promote personal heart health
February is heart health month. Cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke, remains the leading global cause of death with more than 17.3 million deaths each year. Scott Baron, MD, cardiologist at the Dignity Health Heart & Vascular Institute, was a featured guest on the John McGinness Show on KFBK 1530 AM on February 15. The nearly 10 minute interview covers a number of heart health related topics. You can listen to the interview in two parts.   In part 1, Dr. Baron discusses how we need to take better care of ourselves when it comes to heart health; medications that can help with heart disease;  and risk factors for heart disease. In part 2, Dr. Baron covers aspirin as a preventative measure for heart attacks, how heart attack symptoms in women can be different than symptoms in men; and his advice to be good stewards when purchasing medications.
