Dignity Health Senior Vice President of Operations Elected to Serve on the Board of Directors for the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California

Laurie Harting, Senior Vice President of Operations for Dignity Health's greater Sacramento service area, has been elected to serve as the Chair of the Sacramento - Sierra Section and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, a nonprofit trade association representing hospitals and health systems from Bakersfield to the Oregon border.
The Hospital Council of Northern and Central California is organized in regional units known as sections for the purposes of improving health care through convening, education, and advocacy. Harting will serve as the Chair of the Sacramento-Sierra Section, which includes the Counties of Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, El Dorado, Nevada, Sutter, and Yuba. She will also represent the hospitals in the Sacramento-Sierra Section as a member of the Hospital Council Board of Directors. Her term starts in January 2018. 

Harting oversees operations for six Dignity Health Hospitals in the greater Sacramento region, including Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, Mercy Hospital of Folsom, Woodland Memorial Hospital, and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley. Altogether, Harting is responsible for more than 8,000 employees and 600 physicians throughout Dignity Health’s greater Sacramento service area.

The Hospital Council of Northern and Central California is a nonprofit hospital and health system trade association, representing 185 hospitals and health systems in 50 of California’s 58 counties. Hospital Council’s membership includes hospitals and health systems ranging from small, rural hospitals to large, urban medical centers, representing more than 37,000 licensed beds.
