Mercy General Hospital Opens J Street Bistro

Employees and hospital visitors enjoy convenience, atmosphere and healthy food options.
Mercy General Hospital recently opened its brand new J Street Bistro cafeteria. The project was a $1 million investment from the hospital and boasts healthier food choices, more variety and features some locally grown produce – all in a beautiful and modern space.

Jack McElvein, hospital director of food and nutrition at Mercy General, said that the changes are motivated to support the farm to fork movement and give employees options including access to healthier choices and convenience. Now bistro guests can enjoy fresher food and more variety on the menu. There’s also a refrigerated section that features food to go – for those who are on the move and don’t have time to sit down for a meal.
