Level IIIB NICU

If your baby needs it, access to neonatal care is vital.

Glendale Memorial Hospital has a fully equipped 13-bed, Level IIIB Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with the latest life-saving capabilities. Infants from all over Los Angeles County can be transferred to Glendale Memorial Hospital to receive the specialized care not available in some of the other hospitals. Moreover, we are also one of the first hospitals in the nation to use advanced infant screening devices to detect hearing loss before a newborn is sent home.

Caring for your premature baby

We know that having a premature or sick baby is stressful for the entire family. Parents with infants admitted into our NICU are given special attention and encouraged to take part in their baby's care. Our compassionate NICU staff offers information, understanding and a shoulder to cry on when it's needed. When the special day arrives to take the baby home, our NICU nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and social workers are right there to give parents valuable follow-up instructions and support.
