Syed HassanSyed Hassan, MD, is a hematology/oncology physician at Dignity Health – Cancer Institute at St. Joseph's. As a medical oncologist and hematologist, Dr. Hassan provides compassionate medical care to adults with blood related disorders and solid organ cancer. He practices personalized medicine by formulating patient specific treatment plans that may entail use of chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy or a combination of these therapies. He believes in providing patient centered care. Multidisciplinary approach involving other specialties- radiation oncology, nutritionist, interventional radiologist and palliative medicine is a core component of the practice.

Dr. Hassan believes in providing personalized and compassionate care to his patients. In regards to cancer patients, it is very important to have an optimistic, empathetic and integrated approach to cancer therapy, for it will result in the best outcome and high patient satisfaction.

Dr. Hassan received his degree from Deccan College of Medical Sciences, India and he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital/Wayne State University and a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.

He is a member of American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
