Volunteer Services

Volunteering is a labor of love, uncomplicated by salaries and budgets. It is an opportunity to ‘give back’ and make new friends. Whether assisting visitors at the Information Desk, escorting patients and visitors to their destination, or providing patients with comfort items; each task is but a symbol of our volunteers’ compassion.

• Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and no longer attending high school.

• They need to commit to a minimum of six months of four-hour weekly service in a scheduled area.

• College students interested in health care careers who are pursuing pre-medical studies may find assignments in the Emergency Department or other patient care areas of interest.

• All hospital volunteers are required to complete an interview, criminal background check, new volunteer orientation, health testing, assignment-specific training, and Annual Compliance training.

Many of our volunteers were former patients in our hospitals. They were so touched by the personal care and kindness they felt while in the hospital they want to be able to pay it forward by donating their time to others in need. Volunteers also receive the benefit of:
