If your surgeon schedules inpatient surgery, this means you will be recovering in the hospital overnight or for several nights following your procedure. Prior to your inpatient surgery, our surgery admission nurse will call you to obtain your medical history and provide additional information to help you prepare.
The most common procedures at Chandler Regional include:
Whether you are having outpatient or inpatient surgery, you will recover for a short period of time in our Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Here, we will monitor your vital signs, check your surgery site and asses and treat any pain you may be experiencing. When your nurse feels you have adequately recovered from anesthesia, we will take you to your room where you will continue to recover until it is time to go home.
After your inpatient surgery is over and your family speaks to the surgeon, they will be able to wait for you in your room. Occasionally, when the hospital is very full with patients, a room may not be readily available. We will do our best to reunite you with your family and friends as soon as possible.
All of our inpatient rooms are private with a bathroom. We recognize your loved ones are an important part of your healing and encourage them to visit and stay with you according to your desires and comfort. The sofa folds down to provide sleeping accommodations for one person.
