Surgical Services

If you're going to have surgery, Chandler Regional is the place to be! The most advanced surgical technology available, coupled with our specially trained surgeons and compassionate staff, make Chandler Regional a top choice for surgical care.

Surgery Services

We take pride in our investment in the latest technologies, such as the da Vinci robotic surgical system to make surgeries more accurate and convenient, and less invasive, for both patients and surgeons. This means less time in the hospital and faster recoveries at home so you can get back to life quicker than ever before.

We also are home to a team of esteemed heart surgeons who perform a variety of procedures to treat heart disease and restore normal functionality to the heart.

From the most simple surgery to the very complex, our caring nurses and staff will be with you every step of the way, whether you will be with us for inpatient surgery, or if you will go home for outpatient recovery.

da Vinci Surgery

Technological advancements take surgery beyond the limits of the human hand at Chandler Regional. We now offer minimally invasive robotic surgery options with the da Vinci® Si HD™ Surgical System.

Inpatient Surgery

If your surgeon schedules inpatient surgery, this means you will be recovering in the hospital overnight or for several nights following your procedure. Prior to your inpatient surgery, our surgery admission nurse will call you to obtain your medical history and provide additional information to help you prepare.

Outpatient Surgery

Outpatient surgery, or same day surgery, does not require an overnight hospital stay. Whether an operation can be done as outpatient surgery depends on the potential for complications before and after surgery. Your doctor or surgeon will also take into account your age, medical history and overall health.

Surgical Preparation and Testing

Depending on the type of procedure, your Chandler Regional surgeon may have you undergo some basic surgery preparation.

Before Surgery

Our surgery admission nurse will call you before surgery to gather your medical history and other important details. This information will help us develop the optimal treatment plan for you, including surgical procedures, anesthesia and pain management.

Day of Surgery

When you arrive, you will check in with our Admitting Department. Please bring photo identification, your insurance card and means of payment. They will have a packet of information waiting for you based on information you and your doctor have provided us, as well as forms to sign. You will be given your identification bracelets at this time, and will be escorted to the surgery waiting room.

During Surgery

We understand how difficult it is for our loved ones to wait while you are in surgery. We have created a system so your family will know where you are at all times.

After Surgery

After surgery, you will recover for a short period of time in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Though friends and family are not allowed in the Unit, the surgeon will speak to your loved ones as soon as possible to let them know how the surgery went and what to expect next.

Surgery Centers

Surgery centers are designed for minor, short-stay surgery and offer patients an alternative to having a procedure done in a larger hospital environment. Dignity Health has a partnership with United Surgical Partners International (USPI) bringing you a range of outpatient surgery center options.
