Dr. Robert Spetzler, director of Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s, is one of the world’s most renowned neurosurgeons who specializes in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease, including aneurysms, skull base tumors, and various other brain malformations.
He has been involved in pioneering the technique of hypothermia and cardiac arrest for the treatment of difficult brain lesions. Dr. Spetzler is believed to have treated more brain aneurysms than any other neurosurgeon in the world and is sought after by many neurologists and neurosurgeons for his expertise on difficult neurosurgery cases.
Dr. Spetzler has been honored many times by professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
