Dr. Hashimi specializes in cardiothoracic surgery using minimally invasive and robotic approaches. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the International Society for Heart & Lung Transplantation, and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association.
He earned his medical degree at the University of Iowa, where he also completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. His research interests include lung cancer, lung disease, mediastinal disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, and lung transplantation.
“Minimally invasive surgery allows a wide range of benefits for our patients,” says Dr. Hashimi. “Patients who undergo minimally invasive procedures have smaller incisions and less damage to surrounding tissue, so they often experience less scarring, less postoperative pain, and a shorter hospital stay.”
Dr. Hashimi sees patients in Norton Thoracic Institute’s Central Phoenix and East Valley offices. For more information or to make an appointment with him, please call (602) 406-4000.
