Sarah Counts, DO is a thoracic surgeon with Norton Thoracic Institute. She practices out of the Institute’s East Valley office and is affiliated with Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Counts joined Norton in the summer of 2022 following a multiyear career at Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
Dr. Counts earned her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. She went on to complete her General Surgery residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT where she also spent a year as Chief Surgical Resident. She continued on at Yale-New Haven Hospital for her Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship.
Dr. Counts is a member of several professional affiliations including the American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. She also has an interest in research including conditions of the diaphragm plus general thoracic surgery.
