Preparing for Hospitalization

As you plan for your hospitalization at St. Mary's, we recommend that you bring only essential items such as a robe, slippers, and personal care items. Please do not bring jewelry, wallets or electrical appliances.

All hospital rooms are private at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Your hospital room has been planned for efficient medical and nursing care in a safe, comfortable environment. Each bed is designed for professional nursing care and probably is narrower and higher than the bed which you are accustomed to at home.

All inpatient rooms are equipped with direct telephone access. Once you're admitted, you will receive the direct dial telephone for your individual room. This number may be given to family and friends. You will have access to make free local calls.

Television

Television service is provided free of charge in all patient rooms. For special instructions and channel guide, please refer to the Guide to Patient Services located in your hospital room.

Mail

Mail is delivered daily except on weekends. Any mail delivered after your discharge will be forwarded to your home address. Please encourage the use of your full name to assure accurate delivery.
