Workshop Outlines Local Heart Health Resources

SAN ANDREAS, CA – January 20, 2020 - Mark Twain Medical Center resources to diagnose heart health and other cardiac services are among important topics included in a Feb. 14 workshop titled “Heart Health = Everything.

The event is from 10 a.m. to noon in the Mark Twain Medical Center Education Center. A complimentary luncheon is included and free CPR training will be available.

Gary Arvin, Director of Imaging Services at MTMC, will discuss varied diagnostic options for cardiac patients and Jaymee Loverin, RN will explain resources of the Cardiac Services Department.

“Here at MTMC we take pride in offering the most services possible for our community. Cardiac Rehabilitation is just one of many of these services. Within the Heart Center, we offer an exercise program to help patient’s get back to healthy living after cardiac events. Also, located within the Heart center, is the ability to provide Pulmonary Rehab for patients with COPD and other lung issues. Our highly trained and compassionate nurses are there to assist patients throughout the rehab program. The program is just a great atmosphere for healing. Please stay tuned, as MTMC works toward revitalizing the cardiac stress test program as another service provided to our community”.

Additional speakers will discuss Simple Steps to Manage Blood Pressure and focus attention on the fact that Heart Disease is the No. 1 Killer of Women. An opportunity for Hands Only CPR training will follow the program. The presenters are Laura Keller, Family Nurse Practitioner; Denise Mordue-Lane, Family Nurse Practitioner; Jaymee Loverin, RN and Jana Carter, RN, Education Manager.

Heart Health = Everything is the latest in Mark Twain Medical Center’s “A Plan 4 Me” series which provides access to information that can help to address everyday situations, as well as identifying and preventing health issues. When attending their first session, participants receive a free “A Plan 4 Me” binder in which to organize reference materials distributed at each event.
