Patient Accomodations

Mark Twain Medical Center is a not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access General Acute Care Hospital serving all of Calaveras County. We also operate five conveniently located community Medical Centers

The hospital has well over 100,000 square foot of medical programs, with state-of-the-art equipment and procedures, and exceptional medical and support staff to provide quality local health care that regularly scores five-star ratings in patient satisfaction.

Medical and Surgical Unit

For your convenience our Medical and Surgical Unit offers both private rooms and semi-private rooms. Each patient has a private television and phone available for their use. Patient care staff include Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Certified Nurse Assistants.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The ICU has six licensed beds available for critically ill patients who require more intensive nursing and physician care. The ICU is equipped with the most modern, state-of-the-art patient monitors and each room is visible from the nurse's station for constant observation of our patients.
