Volunteering is a labor of love and is an integral part of Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Our volunteers include Auxiliary members, high school/college students, working-adults, retirees, and four- legged family members.
Each volunteer generously shares unique talents, skills, and their time to help meet the needs of our patients and guests. Our volunteers represent our entire community and we appreciate the commitment and contribution of their humankindness.
The purpose of serving is to provide personable non-clinical care and compassion to each person we interact with.
The Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was organized in October 1957 on the first anniversary of the opening of the hospital. The purpose continues to promote and advance the wellness of Memorial Hospital by assisting patients and hospital personnel: develop and sustain public relations; and aiding in the purchase of necessary medical equipment through fundraising activities. Auxiliary Volunteers work various shifts Monday – Friday between 4:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
It is our commitment to our community to support those interested in volunteering by finding a place for them to make a valuable contribution. We realize volunteers make a difference and offer opportunities throughout the hospital. If interested please complete the online application.
