The Antone E. & Marie F. Raymus Foundation Pediatric Unit at St. Joseph’s Medical Center is the only dedicated pediatric unit in San Joaquin County. We are proud to offer exceptional, high-quality care for our smallest patients, close to home.

We believe the environment plays a crucial role in healing. Our 7,000-square-foot unit is designed with children and their families at heart:

• 18 comfortable beds, including eight double rooms and two private rooms
• Spacious rooms with accommodations for parents to stay overnight (chairs, sleep recliners) 
• Colorful, child-friendly decor to foster a positive and comforting atmosphere 
• An interactive playroom filled with games, toys, and activities

We encourage a parent to stay in the child's room during the night. For the safety of our young patients, we limit visitors to age 16 and older.

Each patient receives 24/7 expert care from our compassionate team. This includes highly skilled Certified Pediatric Nurses (CPNs) and health care professionals who are certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Plus, our Pediatric Hospitalists provide continuous, around-the-clock care for all admitted infants, children, and adolescents, working closely with primary care providers to provide coordinated treatment.

As the only dedicated pediatric unit in the region, we offer a wide variety of services including:  

• Pediatric Inpatient Acute Care: Compassionate care for children needing hospital stays 
• Advanced Intermediate Care: Support for children needing specialized breathing assistance and continuous heart monitoring 
• Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU): Dedicated care for the most fragile infants 
• High-Risk Infant Follow-Up Program: Continuous support for healthy development
