St. Joseph's Medical Center offers a full range of health services for women, including traditional gynecologic surgery, as well as newer, advanced surgeries that are minimally invasive. In addition, we provide a full range of cancer services, from breast cancer screenings to advanced treatments for breast and ovarian cancer.

Know the symptoms of heart attack

Heart attacks are common—approximately every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. has one. Men usually experience heart attacks around age 65, while women are more likely to have one around age 72.

Cardiovascular care for women

Heart disease is the number one killer of American women. It can affect women of any age, at any time. It also affects them differently from men. That's why we make it a priority to educate women and improve their collective outlook.

At St. Joseph's Medical Center's Morrissey Family Heart & Vascular Institute we combine advanced heart care services with a personalized level of dignity, respect and compassion. Patients have access to primary heart services close to home through our team of cardiovascular specialists and diagnostic tools and treatment services including the area's only Structural Heart Team, Hybrid Suite, and Electrophysiology Procedural Room.

Women and cancer

St. Joseph's Medical Center is dedicated to providing supportive care for every step of a woman's cancer experience. From detection and treatment, to recovery and support through our cancer patient navigator, our hospitals are home to the latest diagnostic technology and advanced surgical options. We provide patients a full range of cancer services including the area's only inpatient oncology unit and the newest radiation and chemotherapy options.

Getting a mammogram is still the gold standard for breast cancer detection and the American Cancer Society recommends an annual mammography screening for all healthy women beginning at age 40. Mammograms help doctors detect abnormalities and changes in breast tissue before they start to cause symptoms. Early detection and treatment of breast cancer can be lifesaving.

St. Joseph's Women's Imaging Center offers 3D digital mammography services with Computer Aided Detection technology, breast ultrasound, and stereotactic breast biopsy. Our team is made up of board-certified radiologists and registered imaging technologists. They work together to produce quality images and evaluations for our patients and their doctors.
