The Dignity Health Family Birth Center is committed to
providing the best care to moms and their babies.
At St. Joseph’s Medical Center, our way of caring for you and your baby is designed to encourage togetherness and bonding, to teach you baby care skills, and to support you in those first important hours after the birth of your child. We call our method “Mother-Baby Care” because our doctors, nurses and other members of our childbirth team provide care for both you and your baby together.
Our birthing center features:
As San Joaquin County's first Baby-Friendly® designated hospital, we focus on giving breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative is a global program to encourage and recognize hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding.
We also offer a series of prenatal and parenthood classes and resources.
Before the big day, pack a bag with everything you think you'll need at the hospital, so that you're ready to go soon as your baby's ready to arrive. Click the link below for our list of birth essentials to help get you started.
