For Patients

Our goal is to provide you with the best possible care during your hospital stay, helping to ensure your comfort and safety. Meeting and exceeding your expectations for quality care and service is very important to us.

Alliance for Pharmaceutical Access

The Alliance for Pharmaceutical Access, Inc. - APA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) local non-profit organization, founded in Santa Maria in 2004 by local community members and physicians to assist individuals who struggle to meet their basic health needs and are unable to afford their medications. Many are forced to forego taking their prescriptions, greatly increasing the risk of additional decline to their health.

Southern California quality

At Dignity Health, we want to be the safest place possible for our patients and for our caregivers. To increase our safety we need to do more than just create new policies and procedures, we need to strengthen our culture of safety, so that doing the safe thing is always top of mind.

The 18 Dignity Health Hospitals across the Southern California Division are on the journey to becoming Highly Reliability Organizations (HRO) committed to improve safety by first understanding why people make errors and then training our teams with tools that help people reduce the everyday mistakes that we all make.  When these tools are used all the time, hospitals become reliably safe.

Arroyo Grande Community Hospital has been named one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals for a third consecutive year (2021-2023), according to research released by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. This achievement puts Marian in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures.

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation between America’s Best 250 Hospitals and hospitals that did not receive the distinction. In fact, if all hospitals performed similarly to America’s 250 Best, over 160,000 lives could have been saved. Patients treated at one of the 2023 America’s 250 Best Hospitals have, on average, a 28.7% lower risk of dying than if they were treated at a hospital that did not receive the America’s 250 Best Hospitals award.
