Mercy Medical Center’s Rock Solid Nurse Residency Program provides up to 16 weeks of in-depth, evidence-based nursing training. This is not a repeat of nursing school. This is an intense, focused program with content created to prepare you for delivery of excellent patient care in your chosen field of nursing. Didactic content partnered with one-on-one preceptor-led training will provide meaningful learning experiences by subject matter experts. You will be given the opportunity to walk in the shoes of other clinical departments to understand their role in the care of your patients; such as Respiratory, Pharmacy, Lab, Physical Therapy, Wound nurse, Radiology and much more, in order to better collaborate in the care of your patient. Our program will set you up for success and, hopefully, a long rewarding career at Mercy Medical Center Redding.
This 16 week transition-to-practice program is for the new graduate registered nurse (RN). Since its inception in 2011, the goal of this program has been to help the new graduate RN move from the role of student to practitioner by implementing progressive independence in the clinical area.
Our nurses are a dedicated group of professionals who possess a personal sense of commitment and responsibility to providing care that facilitates health and healing. We embrace the concept that each patient and his or her family have a unique background and individual needs.
We will host a cohort in March 2020 and July 2020.
A job posting for the March 2020 cohort will be available for applications beginning December 9, 2019 through the January 10, 2020.
The job posting for the July 2020 cohort will be available for applications by mid-February 2020. A minimum of a two year commitment is required if accepted into the program, and a requirement to be BSN prepared or evidence of working toward the BSN level of education.
Units that will be offered may include:
