CommonSpirit Health National Nurse Residency Program (NNRP)

Nurse residency programs are the gold standard nation-wide for new graduate nurses as they transition from student to competent nurse. Mercy Medical Center has provided a new graduate nurse residency program since 2011. We are proud to announce that starting with the summer cohort of 2023, new graduates will be able to experience a 12 month, best-in-class, comprehensive, innovative transition-to-practice education program. We will be capitalizing on the ANCC accreditation practice design as we work toward accreditation with our new program.

Making Your Professional Goals Happen:

At CommonSpirit Health, we believe it is vital to set our new graduate nurses up for success. We want to provide every opportunity for growth and development that helps the new nurse achieve their professional goals. Dedicated preceptors and mentors will be working with the new graduate nurse every step of the way, utilizing evidence-based teaching techniques, simulation training, and virtual/in-person classroom support to ensure learner success.

This is an intense, focused program that will foster the development of critical thinking, evidence-based decision-making, stress management, and leadership skills. Our content is created to prepare the newly licensed graduate to deliver safe, effective, and quality patient care. The new graduate will experience the true meaning of interdisciplinary care via clinical rotations with Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Lab, Physical Therapy, Wound Care, Radiology, Cath Lab, and Rapid Response. Our national residency program promises to set the new graduate nurse up for a successful and rewarding career at Mercy Medical Center Redding.
