Babies and Parents and Friends, Oh My!

Posted in:
New parents are invited to join Baby & Me, a support group for new parents of babies ages 0 – 9 months. The group meets every Monday where parents and their babies can meet, learn from others and create a community of support.

Woodland, CA, May 3, 2019 – Becoming new parents is a joyful time but it does come with great stress and can be emotionally draining. That’s why Woodland’s Baby & Me, a casual meetup for parents and new babies ages 0 – nine months, meets every Monday where parents and their babies can meet, learn from others and create a community of support.

Studies focused on new mothers show that support from friends and family help new mothers deal better with stress. New moms who have the help of people they trust feel more self-esteem and confidence as a parent and struggle less to access information that helps them parent their new babies.

Parent support groups typically provide a wonderful opportunity for moms and dads to share concerns, questions and successes as they occur during their parenting journey. The free Baby & Me support group welcomes moms, dads and other primary caregivers of infants aged 0 to 9 months.

“We believe Baby & Me will provide a crucial outlet for new parents in our community,” said Tandy Burton, director, Behavioral Health and Family Birth Center, Woodland Memorial Hospital. “Having a place where you can find support and friendship from people experiencing the same highs and lows is so important as a new parent.”

Baby & Me is made possible thanks to a partnership between Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital and the City of Woodland.

No reservation is necessary and parents are encouraged to simply stop by and join in.
