Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital Announces Executive Leadership Transition

President & CEO Kevin Vaziri concludes career at Dignity Health.


Woodland, CA – Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital announced today that Kevin Vaziri, president & CEO, has made the decision to conclude his career at Dignity Health effective September 1, 2020. Kevin’s health care career spans three decades and for the past 16 years he has been instrumental in the success and growth of Dignity Health and Woodland Memorial. His enthusiasm and leadership will be greatly missed.

Under Kevin’s leadership, Woodland Memorial continues to deliver on its commitment to provide care beyond the hospital walls. Kevin’s unwavering focus on meeting the needs of the community, the hospital’s medical staff, and employees is unparalleled. Kevin leaves a legacy in which he focused on growing and delivering nationally recognized care through dedicated and compassionate health care professionals who always put patients first. This will continue to serve the community now and in the future.

With Kevin’s departure, Edmundo Castañeda, president & CEO of Mercy General Hospital has accepted the offer to expand his role and also oversee Woodland Memorial as president & CEO. Edmundo joined Dignity Health in 2012 as Mercy General Hospital’s president and has served as the interim president at Woodland Memorial since February. Edmundo is committed to continuing to nurture a highly engaged staff and medical group and foster a culture of clinical excellence and accountability, while meeting mission-focused objectives.
