As part of the dedication, second graders from Sacred Heart Parish School sang a song at the park, located across the street from the school. In addition, a birthday cake was presented to Mrs. Anderson, who celebrates her 90th birthday this week.
The park is one of the enhancements to the neighborhood as part of the Alex G. Spanos Heart & Vascular Center project. The new facility is expected to see its first patients on Monday, April 14.
A KCRA 3 crew covered the park dedication and interviewed Agnes Anderson and Edmundo Castañeda, president of Mercy General Hospital.
