Third graders spread kindness at Mercy General Hospital
Students from Sacred Heart Parish School staffed a kindness booth and passed out hand-written prescriptions for kindness to patients, visitors and staff at Mercy General Hospital as part of the Great Kindness Challenge, sponsored by Dignity Health and Kids for Peace. The prescriptions for simple acts of kindness will help recipients feel better emotionally and physically. The school choir also sang a song about kindness in the hospital lobby. A recent study by Dignity Health found 70 percent of people surveyed shared that a child has inspired them to be more kind and 74 percent agreed that adults could learn a lot about kindness by watching how children interact with the world. The Great Kindness Challenge encouraged students to engage in different kindness activities from Jan. 22 – 26.
