Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital Unveils New Robotic Surgical System, Expanding Advanced Care in Yolo County
Woodland, CA, August 11, 2025 – Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital today unveiled its new da Vinci robotic surgical system, a major milestone in expanding access to advanced, minimally invasive surgery for patients across Yolo County. The system allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision and control, resulting in smaller incisions and faster recovery times.
“This is an exciting leap forward for our hospital and the community we serve,” said Gena Bravo, President and CEO of Woodland Memorial Hospital. “The addition of the da Vinci surgical system gives our skilled surgical teams more tools to deliver safe, high-quality care and we’re proud to bring this level of innovation to Yolo County.”
The da Vinci surgical system is used in a wide range of procedures, including general, urologic, gynecologic, and colorectal surgeries. Woodland Memorial Hospital joins a growing number of Dignity Health hospitals investing in robotic surgery to expand access to advanced care across the region.
“With robotic-assisted surgery, we’re able to perform delicate procedures with more precision and less trauma to the body,” said Dr. Karan Bath, Robotic General Surgeon at Woodland Clinic Medical Group. “That translates to better outcomes for patients and much quicker return to their daily lives.”
Founded in 1905, Woodland Memorial Hospital cares for more than 30,000 patients each year and was honored in 2025 by the American Hospital Association for a century of continuous membership. The hospital continues to grow its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the Yolo County community, with a focus on safety, innovation, and compassionate care.
