Diabetes and Pregnancy Program
To assist and support clients by decreasing risk factors associated with diabetes during pregnancy, Dignity Health offers comprehensive care in our Outpatient Diabetes and Pregnancy Program in partnership with California Maternal Fetal Medicine. The program is designed to provide expectant mothers with practical information for improved diabetes management through specialized meal planning, physical activity, and incorporating best practices from the program in daily life.
The team is led by Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist Marwan Ali, MD, and includes highly trained nurses, a diabetes educator, dietician and social worker. Their collaborative efforts help patients manage complicated pregnancies due to diabetes through a full spectrum of prenatal services including testing, evaluation, counseling, and education, along with:
- Blood Glucose Monitoring
- Medical Nutrition Therapy
