The Alex G. Spanos Heart & Vascular Center is built upon the legacy of compassionate care established by the Sisters of Mercy, who have faithfully served the Sacramento community’s health care needs since 1895. More than 500 generous grateful patients, their families, and community members contributed through Mercy Foundation to start the process of making the Alex G. Spanos Heart & Vascular Center a reality. Stockton businessman, philanthropist and Mercy General Hospital grateful patient Alex G. Spanos and his wife, Faye, made a substantial lead gift, an important catalyst for philanthropic giving.
