RN Critical Care Extended Transition Program

This unique transition program provides the opportunity for the acute care nurse to learn telemetry fundamentals to provide cardiac, stroke, trauma and other specialty care to gain the knowledge and experience to attend our critical care boot camp. Graduation from this program in 14 months will culminate with the ability to work in the ICU and apply for a position in one of our critical care units.

We are pleased to announce our upcoming January 2023 RN Residency Cohort. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited program in the past 12 months.

The application period will be October 10th to November 10th through the career portal. Positions will be available for Medical-Surgical and Telemetry departments.

Below is the RN Residency Program Timeline for 2023 which outlines our open periods for submitting your application and cover letter, the tentative interview dates, when to expect news of an offer and lastly the first day of orientation to California Hospital Medical Center.

RN Residency Program - Making your professional goals a reality

  • The California Hospital Medical Center RN Residency Program establishes the skills and confidence of the RN  new graduate to ensure best care and outcomes in practice. We provide a mixed learning experience, including classroom, simulation and bedside orientation with preceptors to facilitate the transition into professional practice. 
  • This is an opportunity for the new nurse to develop a strong foundation in acute care practice upon which to build their career with other nurses who possess a personal sense of commitment and responsibility to provide care that facilitates health and healing.
