At Community Hospital of San Bernardino's Health Education Center, we are committed to helping all prospective mothers and new mothers to be as prepared as possible for their little bundle of joy.
Having a baby is an exciting time, with many important decisions and preparations to be made. To help all parents feel confident, we offer a nurturing environment with an experienced and caring staff available to help prepare and educate you on what to expect.This program includes a tour of the labor and delivery and postpartum units at Community Hospital of San Bernardino, as well as an opportunity to hear from hospital staff during a complementary dinner.

The class is designed for delivered mothers while still in the hospital to help prepare for life with their newborn. We discuss the risk factors involved post-birth, as well as provide community resources for mother and baby. It also covers topics such as breastfeeding, care of the newborn and how to take care of yourself after giving birth. It is an important part of the discharge process and especially helpful for new parents. This class is offered in both English and Spanish.

This class helps in the physical and psychological preparation for childbirth that addresses Lamaze techniques, breastfeeding and newborn topics.

If you and your physician have determined that a C-section is the best delivery option for you and your baby, this class discusses topics surrounding the reasons for C-sections, common preoperative procedures and routines in surgery. It also includes the medications used, postoperative care and a video about Cesarean deliveries.

Breastfeeding is the best form of bonding and nutrition for you and your baby. For mothers who are breastfeeding, learn more about how this class discusses the advantages of breastfeeding, anatomy of the breast and how breast milk is produced. It also covers proper positioning of the infant while nursing, challenges and common concerns. The newborn portion helps you practice diapering, bathing and dressing your little bundle of joy.
