Regarded as one of the finest of its kind in the area, the Behavioral Health Services program at Community Hospital of San Bernardino is designed with your comfort and healing in mind. We are committed to creating healthier communities, delivering exceptional patient care, and ensuring every person has access to quality health care.
Our compassionate team of psychiatrists, counselors, social workers, and nurses provide a warm and caring environment for those in need of inpatient mental health services. We help teach life skills for coping with mental health conditions, make sure medications are stabilized, and provide a listening ear.
A structured environment, combined with compassionate staff, encouragement, and support provides the stable and positive atmosphere needed for continued psychological and emotional growth. Our inpatient program offers comprehensive care including therapeutic interventions and medication stabilization. We utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which is a type of therapy to help our patients develop trust, enhance self-confidence and learn new life skills for dealing with problems.

If you're struggling with overwhelming life events, emotional challenges and/or mood disorders, our Intensive Outpatient Program might be just what you need to stabilize your symptoms, while still continuing to live your regular life at home.
Community Hospital San Bernardino's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP is a 6-8 week program for adults needing treatment for mental or emotional problems. Participants are invited to attend 2-4 days a week.
We offer morning and afternoon, so as to provide minimal disruption to patient’s daily lives. We want our participants to continue to go to work or school.
This program focuses on life management, self-understanding, interpersonal relationships, and the attainment of personal satisfaction and meaning. IOP uses dialectical behavior therapy, a cognitive behavioral approach, proven effective in helping individuals improve their overall life skills. We offer both individual and group therapy sessions specific for the patient’s needs.
During small group sessions of 8-10 people, participants learn the basic skills of: Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation and Distress Tolerance. We offer a supportive environment that encourages growth and helps to foster change.
The Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to meet the needs of those suffering from substance abuse as well as an underlying mental health condition. This structured outpatient program uses dialectical behavior therapy to help those in need make positive changes in their lives.
