At Community Hospital San Bernardino, we help you live a whole-hearted life by providing a variety of classes and resources to support your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Find out how we can help you, below.

We offer two great options for support and education to help you in your health journey. While the Health Education Center offers classes and support in a group setting, free of charge, our Family Wellness Center can work with your insurance and primary care physician to provide personalized education, health plans, support, and resources to help you live your best life.

Family Wellness Center

Located in the Health Education Center, the Family Wellness Center offers personalized, one-on-one healthcare support covered by your insurance. You can talk to your doctor to get a referral or you can contact us for help with insurance paperwork and physician referrals.

Transcutaneous Bilirubin (TCB) Assessment
This is a jaundice level assessment that uses a painless skin-surface level testing method which provides instant results for newborns up to two weeks of age.

Nutrition Consultation
If your child is underweight, overweight, or a picky eater, one of our registered dietitians can help provide education on a healthy diet, develop customized meal plans, and work with you and your little one to help them regain their health through eating. 

Our programs are ADA (American Diabetes Association) recognized.

Personal Diabetes Consultation
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, our Diabetes experts can provide an in-depth discussion about blood sugar monitoring, medication management, and lifestyle adjustments such as diet and exercise, all aimed at achieving optimal diabetes control.

Nutrition Consultation
If you are underweight, overweight, or just want to lower your cholesterol our registered dietitian can help provide education on a healthy diet, develop customized meal plans, and help you regain your health through eating.

Our programs are ADA (American Diabetes Association) recognized.

This program is designed for individuals with diabetes who are pregnant or who have developed diabetes during their pregnancy. Our expert nurses will collaborate with your doctor to develop customized meal plans, exercise regimens, blood sugar monitoring, and medication adjustments. 

Our customized program includes referrals to a free prepared childbirth program, lactation education, and care of the newborn. Included in this program, a baby shower is hosted for all of the participants.

We are a CPSP (Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program) provider which means we work with your OBGYN doctor to provide comprehensive specialized care for you during pregnancy and up to one year postpartum.

Health Education Center

Free classes and support groups are offered to anyone who wants to improve their health or wellness. This includes maternity tours and birthing classes, diabetes, CPR, asthma care, healthy cooking classes and more.

*Note: Breastfeeding support is offered in a one-on-one setting by reservation. 

Ofrecemos algunas clases en español, apoyo de traducción para otras clases y folletos bilingües para que pueda aprender en el idioma que le resulte más cómodo.

Las ofertas actuales en español incluyen:

  • Clases de preparación al parto 1 & 2 en español: El Método del Parto Preparado es una preparación física y psicológica para el parto que aborda técnicas de trabajo de parto, lactancia materna y temas relacionados con el recién nacido.
  • Apoyo a la lactancia materna en español: Haga una cita para recibir apoyo personalizado y formación sobre lactancia materna.
  • Se pueden organizar servicios de traducción para todas las demás clases. Los temas de las clases incluyen formación en RCP, clases de diabetes y clases de cocina saludable. Llame para obtener más información.

Maternity Tour (In-person and virtual tours offered)
In-Person Tour - Tuesday | September 12 (Offered the second Tuesday of every month at Community Hospital of San Bernardino)

Join us to learn more about delivering your baby at Community Hospital of San Bernardino. This program includes a tour of the labor and delivery and postpartum units, as well as an opportunity to hear from hospital staff.

Prepared Childbirth Classes 1&2
Friday September 8, 15

This two-part class teaches the prepared Childbirth Method which is a physical and psychological preparation for childbirth that addresses laboring techniques, breastfeeding, and newborn topics.

The SBPD would like to invite you to our K9 fundraiser. Come dine at a delicious local restaurant, be served by police department employees and come meet your working canine dogs!

All tips from the day will be donated to the San Bernardino Police Foundation K9 Fund and will support the care and training of the police dogs.
