Meal Service and Nutrition Information

We know that well-balanced, nutritious meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. The Food and Nutrition Services department at Glendale Memorial Hospital prepares and delivers healthy, nutritionally-balanced meals for you to enjoy. We also provide snacks and nourishments upon request.

Salt In Your Meals

At Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, our menus are written and planned in accordance with national guidelines. Meals are designed to promote health and help reduce the risk of chronic diseases by providing less than 2300 mg of sodium (salt) and greater than 25 gm of fiber. Because of these guidelines, there may be less salt in your food.

We no longer place salt packets on your meal tray. If you are on a regular diet and prefer to have a salt packet, please ask your physician to write an order for a regular diet that includes a salt packet.

Patient meal trays are delivered to the nursing units during the following times:

Breakfast   7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Lunch  11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Dinner   5:00 p.m. to  6:30 p.m.

Please note that patient meal times may vary. If you have any questions, please ask your nurse.

Patients who would like more information on the meal service can call Food and Nutrition Services at (818) 502-1900, extension 2336.
