The Healthier Living Program has a focus on helping our communities gain practical skills to become better informed and more involved in their own care.

FREE 6 week workshop series for individuals living with pre-diabetes, diabetes, or a family history of diabetes. During this workshop, we work together in small groups, during 1.5 hour sessions to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent diabetes, manage diabetes and reduce complications resulting from diabetes, such as kidney failure, amputation, vision loss, stroke and heart failure. *Available in English and Spanish*
FREE 6 week workshop for individuals living with chronic conditions such as COPD, diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Arthritis, Lung Disease and other ongoing health conditions. During this workshop, we share experiences and work together in small groups, during 2 hour sessions to increase confidence, physical and psychological wellbeing, knowledge of ways to manage chronic conditions and motivation to manage challenges associated with chronic diseases.

FREE cooking class series for individuals living with diabetes or any ongoing health condition. During each one hour class on every first and third Wednesday of each month, we offer simple preparation of meals appropriate for individuals living with diabetes. The goal of these classes is to increase our community’s knowledge of healthier food choices with healthier versions of familiar foods while also providing opportunities for participants to share and learn from one another.

The program is best suited for anyone with a chronic condition such as diabetes, arthritis, hypertension or high blood pressure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease, or ANY other chronic health condition. Participating in the sessions will not conflict with your existing medical care or treatment. We encourage and welcome your caregivers and family members to attend as well.
