Dominican Hospital Staff Raise More than $18,000 for Local Food Bank

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (January 5, 2024) - Dignity Health Dominican Hospital holiday basket fundraiser raised $18,500 for Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County. Staff from individual hospital departments contributed a great variety of themed items for holiday baskets that were raffled to all staff. Examples of a few of the elaborate baskets include; tools, camping equipment, beauty and wellness, pet supplies, gift cards to local businesses and more. Baskets were displayed in the hospital for several weeks to allow all staff to purchase raffle tickets. 

“This is a fun and collaborative event for our staff to give back to our community and help provide food to families in need over the holidays,” said Dominique Hollister, Dominican Hospital Director of Administrative Services and Community Benefit. 

The basket raffle has been a holiday tradition for the last six years at Dominican Hospital. This year, a total of 22 baskets that raised $18,500, for Second Harvest Food Bank - exceeding the amount raised in previous years.
