Babies who are premature or require simple to complex intensive care will receive care right here at Dominican Hospital's 14-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

We partner with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford to provide the most advanced care available to infants and families on the Central Coast. Families appreciate the state-of-the-art technology and knowledgeable staff that is available for their infant’s care, while staying close to home. The NICU team, including Stanford neonatologists and NICU-certified nurses, provides our newborn patients with around-the-clock care.

We provide a customized plan of care for each baby and their family to ensure the highest quality medical treatment and patient satisfaction. A multidisciplinary team works collaboratively from admission to discharge to ensure that your baby gets the highest quality neonatal care available.

Our transport team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to travel to hospitals throughout the region to pick up and stabilize infants needing the services of our intensive care unit.

Transporting sick newborns to Dominican Hospital's Level III NICU is just one of the many community outreach programs available. We also have an annual reunion celebration for all the baby graduates from our NICU. We love to visit and bond with the families year after year to see how your children are growing and thriving.
