In addition to our Cancer Center programs and classes on diabetes and childbirth, we offer free physical fitness classes and education on how to live healthy with a chronic disease.

Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP)

This is a six-week workshop that teaches you how to live a healthy life with chronic conditions. Examples of chronic conditions include diabetes, asthma, COPD, back pain, arthritis, hypertension, bronchitis, heart disease, and more. These workshops are free, however, they do require registration. This program is also available in Spanish.

Smoking Cessation Class

Fresh Start, also known as smoking cessation, is open to anyone that wants to quit tobacco use. This program is a collaboration with the American Cancer Society. This is a FREE 4 week program that meets one-hour each week and is taught by a certified Fresh Start facilitator. In this program you will learn about the benefits of quitting smoking and gain valuable knowledge and skills in order to plan YOUR quit date. Participants will be offered free smoking cessation patches, as well as a kit full of helpful resources.

Walk With Ease - An Arthritis Foundation Program

If you suffer from Arthritis or another chronic condition, come experience some relief with our 6 week Walk With Ease program— designed for (but not limited to) adults 18 years or older of varying fitness levels. Even if you do not have arthritis, but would like to begin a regular walking program to gain the benefits of regular aerobic exercise, and learn how to safely make physical activity a part of your everyday life, this program will be suitable for you! Sessions begin with a brief discussion on a topic important to successful walking or arthritis management. After the discussion, the group will warm up, stretch, walk, cool down and stretch one last time.

The Arthritis Foundation’s program is proven to:
  - Reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis
  - Increase balance, strength and walking pace
  - Build confidence in your ability to be physically active
  - Improve overall health
