Didactics

Our didactic sessions are held every Thursday afternoon and provide residents with a robust, high-yield curriculum. Core topics include Psychopathology, Psychopharmacology, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Consult & Liaison Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Research & Quality Improvement.

Residents also receive a structured Psychopharmacology series in the PGY-1 and PGY-2 years, while PGY-3 and PGY-4 residents continue to reinforce knowledge through focused psychopharmacology lectures integrated into their broader didactic curriculum.

In the advanced training years, residents also receive didactics in specialized topics covering Interventional Psychiatry (e.g., TMS), Integrative Psychiatry (e.g., Nutritional Psychiatry), and Neuropsychology.

Our program also offers a comprehensive 2-year curriculum in Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, consisting of weekly lectures paired with ongoing case consultation. This series is led by three psychiatrists with advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, providing residents with both a strong theoretical foundation and practical experience in applying psychodynamic principles to clinical care.

In addition, residents benefit from Journal Clubs, Case Conferences, and structured PRITE and ABPN Board Review sessions, which strengthen both academic knowledge and exam readiness.

To promote resident wellness and reflection, we also provide a monthly protected Process Group.
