Curriculum Overview

We are a four-year ACGME accredited Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Each training year consists of 13 four-week blocks. Below is a list of our rotations by training year: 

PGY-1

• Inpatient Psychiatry - St. Joseph's Behavioral Health Center
• Inpatient Psychiatry - Napa State Hospital 
• Family Medicine - St. Joseph's Medical Center
• Emergency Medicine - St. Joseph's Medical Center
• Neurology - St. Joseph's Medical Center, Touro University Medical Group 
• Sleep Medicine - Pacific Sleep Disorders Center 

PGY-2

• Inpatient Psychiatry - St. Joseph's Behavioral Health Center
• Inpatient Psychiatry - Napa State Hospital 
• Consult & Liaison Psychiatry - St. Joseph's Medical Center
• Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - Touro University Medical Group
• Addiction Psychiatry - Napa State Hospital 
• Geriatric Psychiatry - Napa State Hospital 
• Forensic Psychiatry - Napa State Hospital 
• Research Elective 

PGY-3

• Outpatient Psychiatry - Touro University Medical Group 
• Outpatient Psychiatry - VA Northern California Healthcare System 

PGY-4

• Core Rotations (Inpatient Psychiatry, Consult & Liaison Psychiatry, Outpatient Psychiatry), with emphasis on progressive autonomy through a Junior Attending model  
• Electives 
• Outpatient Psychiatry (Continuity Clinic) with the VA Northern California Health Care System
