To receive the Gold Plus Quality Achievement Awards, hospitals must achieve 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines-Stroke achievement indicators for a minimum of 12 consecutive months and achieve 75 percent or higher compliance to a group of quality measures.

These ratios include evaluation of the proper use of medications and other stroke treatments aligned with the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients.

“We are extremely proud to receive this recognition, as it shows St. John’s ongoing dedication in delivering comprehensive stroke care for our patients,” said Darren Lee, President and CEO of St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. “To have both St. John’s Hospitals receive these significant acknowledgments, for two years in a row, is remarkable for our communities.”
