“St. John’s Heart and Vascular Institute was recently honored with the 2019 Five-Star Coronary Intervention Excellence AwardTM and the 2019 America’s 100 Best Coronary InterventionTM by Healthgrades,” said Darren W. Lee, President and CEO, St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital and St. John’s Regional Medical Center. “These awards demonstrate our commitment to delivering quality care for cardiac patients.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, roughly 720,000 Americans suffer a heart attack each year. Early treatment can save lives, and that is why St. John’s Hospitals offers free online heart risk assessments, diagnostic procedures, medical management, and non-surgical interventions for the treatment of heart disease.

Many of the risk factors for heart disease can be reduced by improving lifestyle habits. Small lifestyle choices such as exercising, managing a well balance diet, and not smoking can make a big difference when fighting heart disease. During Heart Health Month, schedule a visit with your physician to discuss your heart health. To find a cardiologist at St. John’s, please call (877) 753-6248.

If any member of the media would like to attend these events or requires additional information, please contact Arrate Zavala in the Marketing Communications Department at (805) 988-2751.
