OXNARD, CA – September 30, 2020 – St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH), members of Dignity Health Central Coast, invite community members to attend the highly anticipated 11th Annual Breast Symposium on Saturday, October 31. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, and with utmost precaution, the Breast Symposium will be held virtually, in place of an in-person event.
This year’s Breast Health in a New Decade symposium will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. - noon via Zoom. Advanced registration is required for this FREE event, and participants can join from a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
“This is our eleventh annual breast symposium. We wanted to continue the event, although it meant hosting it virtually for the first time,” said Lynn Jeffers, MD, Medical Director of St. John’s Integrated Breast Center and Plastic Surgeon. “There are new technologies and advancements that can benefit our patients, and now more than ever, we must remind people that although we are in a pandemic, it is essential to maintain routine screenings and exams.”
During this FREE virtual educational session, the Integrated Breast Center (IBC) specialists will discuss breast health and breast cancer topics such as nutrition, radiation therapy, treatment protocols, genetics, risk factors, imaging, breast reconstruction, and balancing life before, during, and after a diagnosis. Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity for online, real-time interaction with the panelists.
