St. John’s Regional Medical Center Welcomes First Baby of The New Year

OXNARD, CA – January 1, 2022 – Dignity Health-St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) welcomed its New Year baby, Thea Calabrese, at 3:39 am on January 1, 2022. The healthy baby girl came into the world weighing 6 pounds and 5 ounces and measuring 19 inches in length. Mom and baby are healthy and doing well.

“We are happy that she came naturally on her own,” lovingly explained baby Thea’s mom, Breanna Calabrese. “She picked her birthday. She wanted to be a New Year's baby.”

Mom and dad have been enjoying their precious New Year's arrival. This is baby number two for the Calabrese family. The proud parents are looking forward to introducing Thea to her big brother. 

The Mother-Infant Unit team presented mom and dad with a gift basket filled with goodies to celebrate the first baby of the year.

“It’s always an honor to celebrate the first baby of the year.,” said Cristy Daria, Charge Nurse in the Mother-Infant Unit at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. “We congratulate the Calabrese family and all of the families who are welcoming a little one in the New Year.”
