Our expert Cancer Care team are members of Pacific Central Coast Health Centers. Our philosophy is that cancer care requires a personalized approach. Cancer is not just one disease; and every cancer has a unique cause, prognosis, genetic profile. Each patient requires a unique approach and a tailored treatment plan geared toward their individual situation and biologic makeup. We pride ourselves for offering the full regiment of cancer services all available in the Ventura community. No long travel necessary.

Jessica Jensen, DNP, FNP-BCJay Klarnet, MD

Medical Oncology and Hematology

With over 45 years of unwavering dedication to patient care, Dr. Jay Klarnet is a board-certified oncologist specializing in medical and hematologic oncology. His experience encompasses the full spectrum of care for cancer and blood disorders, including a deep proficiency in bone marrow transplantation.

Dr. Klarnet earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1980, followed by a residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital and an oncology fellowship at the University of Washington. Beyond his core board certification, he is recognized for his expertise across 10 key areas, such as bone marrow transplantation, various cancer types, and tumor management. As a former Director of Oncology, he consistently combined expert clinical practice with visionary leadership, shaping advanced cancer treatment programs. His significant contributions to oncology are further reflected in his more than 20 publications and over 500 citations.

At the heart of Dr. Klarnet's practice is a profound commitment to providing compassionate and meticulously personalized treatment for every individual. When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Klarnet enjoys staying active through hiking, cycling, and sailing.

NP - Adult Nurse Practitioner
Cancer Care (Oncology)

Jessica Jensen, NP is a Family Nurse Practitioner with experience as an infusion nurse and a background in chemotherapy care, bone marrow transplant, CAR-T cell therapy, and administration of medications in Phase I clinical trials. Working in oncology has given her a strong commitment to evidence-based cancer care, and she says she feels honored to support patients during some of the most important moments of their treatment.

Rachel Araujo, DNP, FNP-BC, OCNRachel Araujo, DNP, FNP-BC, OCN 

Rachel Araujo, DNP, FNP-BC, OCN, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a comprehensive clinical background in oncology. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice - Family Nurse Practitioner degree from UC Davis, where her doctoral scholarly project focused on improving malnutrition screening and supportive care for oncology patients. She is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care focused on education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and survivorship support for patients and their families.

Originally from Ventura County, she looks forward to serving her community and expanding access to high quality cancer care in the area.
