When Do I Need A Mammogram?
- Women age 40 and older should have an annual mammogram, according to the American Cancer Society. Your doctor may want to do a baseline mammogram at age 35.
- Women with breast pain should schedule a doctor’s appointment.
- Women who have dense breasts may need extra evaluation as dense (gland) tissue makes it harder to read a mammogram.
- Women who feel a lump or abnormal growth should immediately schedule an appointment with their doctor.
Women’s Imaging Center
Our dedicated Women’s Imaging Center is just for women having a mammogram. Located within St. Elizabeth’s, this inviting area features a private dressing and waiting area especially designed for our female patients. There is also comfortable seating and a wide-screen television.
Digital Mammography
Early detection can be very important when treating breast cancer. Our state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment can increase the chances of early breast cancer detection. Our skilled radiologists are able to make a prompt diagnosis with digital technology, and also get reports back to your primary care doctor sooner.
