Woodland Memorial Hospital’s Family Birth Center recently received the Hospital of the Year Award for Perinatal Safety, as awarded by Dignity Health.

Dignity Health announced the honor at its 7th Annual Perinatal Safety Summit held in Las Vegas. At this summit, Dignity Health leadership joined hospital executives to discuss patient safety and strategies for improving outcomes for mothers and babies at its member hospitals. The conference included recognition for Dignity Health’s top hospitals, including the honor of Hospital of the Year for Perinatal Safety.

“Woodland Memorial certainly deserves to be recognized,” said Suzanne Wiesner, Director Maternal Child Health Services, Dignity Health system office. “We extend our thanks to the physicians and staff of the Woodland Memorial Family Birth Center for providing excellent care to our patients.”

Woodland Memorial was chosen to receive the honor based on their success implementing Dignity Health’s Perinatal Safety initiatives, including evidence-based practices in obstetrical care. The hospital has also demonstrated strong collaboration among nurses and providers; met targets for multidisciplinary education and simulation drills in obstetrical care; achieved national recognition as a designated Baby Friendly Hospital; and continued to improve in quality outcomes.

“Here at Woodland Memorial, we pride ourselves on providing the very best care possible to mothers and babies,” said Anna Enriquez, RN, MSN, Director Woodland Memorial Family Birth Center. “From our private family-centered birthing suites, to our comprehensive lactation services, to our extensive birthing support and pain relief options, we are committed to helping our patients experience the best birth possible. This award recognizes the commitment our physicians and staff have to make Woodland Memorial Hospital the best in Dignity Health.”
